Rob Schimmel

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Rob Schimmel is a Managing Director at Merchant focused on strategy and acquisitions for partner firms. He works with leadership teams across the Merchant community to define and execute strategic and capital deployment initiatives. In addition, Rob evaluates potential equity partnerships on behalf of Merchant as well as debt capital solutions on behalf of Merchant Credit Partners.

Prior to Merchant, Rob worked in the Corporate Development group of LPL Financial Holdings. He was responsible for the firm’s minority equity investment strategy, specialized credit solutions, and advisor engagement throughout the M&A lifecycle.

Prior to joining LPL Financial, Rob held various roles across investment banking, private equity, and M&A advisory over the past 20 years. His prior experience includes positions at Deutsche Bank, Berenson & Company, Lazard, SearchPoint Ventures, and Noble Four Partners.

Rob received an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin with Highest Honors and a B.A. from Princeton University’s School of Public & International Affairs with a Minor in Finance.
