Barry is a Partner of Merchant and a Partner at GPS Investment Partners, who draws from a 30+ year career in private investing and leveraged finance Barry is the Co-Founder and the Head of the Investment Committee at Maxim Capital, a $1.5 billion real estate lending platform. In 2009, he co‐founded Lake Success Rentals, an owner and operator of over 2,500 homes and apartments in South Florida and North Carolina. Since 2010, Lake Success, in partnership with Tricon Capital Group, purchased, rehabilitated, and operated, over $200 million of single family residences in the Southeast United States. Barry also sits on the Advisory Board of Encore Housing Opportunity Fund. 

Prior to founding ALBA Investments, Barry spent 12 years as a Managing Director at Credit Suisse and its predecessor, Donaldson, Lufkin, Jenrette, in the Leveraged Finance Department. Previously, Barry spent 13 years at Morgan Stanley in the firm’s Leveraged Finance Group. He is currently on the Finance Committee and an executive board member of The Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty.

Barry received an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the University of Chicago and a BS degree in Economics and Business from SUNY Binghamton.
