Stephen Kane

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Stephen Kane is a Managing Director at Merchant, responsible for the firm’s operations, including operational due diligence and treasury and settlement functions.

Stephen has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry across various operational roles. Most recently, he was a Managing Director at RLB Holdings, a family office in Greenwich, CT. His responsibilities included strategy, deal structuring, and operational oversight. Before joining RLB, Stephen consulted for Credit Suisse, helping integrate a fund administration business they had acquired and expand their middle office services.

Prior to Credit Suisse, Stephen was a partner at OpHedge Investment Services, a full-service fund administrator. His role at OpHedge went from overseeing all derivative operations to full-time business development. Stephen was at OpHedge from inception through its successful sale to a larger competitor. Before that, Stephen held roles at Oak Hill Platinum Partners, Long Term Capital Management, Lehman Brothers, and the Yale Medical School.

Stephen graduated from Fairfield University with a B.S. in Physics and a minor in Mathematical Analysis.
