Matt McPeak

PARTNER & MANAGING DIRECTOR

Matt McPeak is a Partner and Managing Director at Merchant, specializing in strategy, acquisitions, debt solutions, and alternative investments. In this role, Matt seeks new investment opportunities and collaborates with leadership teams at partner firms to drive organic and inorganic growth initiatives. He also leads the sourcing and underwriting of private market investment opportunities, providing tailored solutions for Merchant’s network and clients.

Prior to joining Merchant, Matt served as Head of RIA & Family Office and a member of the Private Wealth Leadership Team at Blue Owl Capital. In this role, he led Blue Owl’s sales team, distribution strategy, and client service in the North American RIA & Family Office sector. Founding the RIA & Family Office team in 2019, Matt grew the business to a market-leading position, overseeing a team of more than 15 professionals and raising over $6 billion in cumulative assets.

Earlier in his career, Matt was an Associate Vice President at The Carlyle Group, where he led the U.S. Western division across all investment strategies and was a key member of the Carlyle Private Wealth team.

Matt holds a B.A. from The University of Pennsylvania and a minor from The Wharton School. Originally from New Jersey, he resides with his family in Pacific Palisades, California.
